Perfect for mapping hidden trails, or documenting the turns you take on poorly marked trails. Whenever there is a fork, draw an arrow in the direction you took.

can be used to trace trails on satellite maps, and then hike with the topographical map turned on as it is easier to see in bright light. This will allow you to stay on trail easier.

ROUTE PLANNING

I use it to draw on roads that I find on satellite that are not available on internet maps (such as primitive or some forest roads). Just draw your route, lock the center on you, and follow the route you drew!

DRAWING YOUR AREA OF OPERATIONS

There are tools in ATAK (geofence) to warn you when you are leaving the AO, but you can also use the draw tool to outline your area to keep everyon within the planned boundary\
